Hemp seeds are considered a “super food” because they are high in omega 3 fatty acids. Omega 3 is super important in your diet, and for Plant Powered People hemp seeds are a great source. They are also a great source of protein, at a proportion of 33% of their weight being protein. Three tablespoons of Nutiva of hemp seeds gives you 10 grams of protein! Bonus - you get 20% (3.8 mg) of your recommended daily value of iron in that serving as well. Also, Nutiva uses organic hemp seeds, which I like.

Hemp seeds are wonderful sprinkled on salads, which is my preferred way to eat them, but they can also be added to many dishes and smoothies. Hemp seeds taste nutty and add a little bit of texture and crunch to your salad or other dish.
