Palirria Greek Gigantes Beans

We discovered these at a local Greek cultural festival and wondered why we hadn’t know about them before then. We subsequently tracked them down at a local shop that sells Greek speciality foods. This brand is all natural, vegan and non-GMO. And, like all beans, they are packed with protein.

So what are these beans? They are GIANT - about twice the size of an almond, and they taste sooo good. These Palierria brand beans are produced in Greece, cooked in a traditional tomato sauce. You have to taste them to believe. They are wonderful warmed up, but also can be eaten right out of the can. Sometimes I take a can of these beans for lunch, along with a fork, and that is my lunch!
